Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
Weird one, this. My and my missus live in a block of flats and I have a dartboard which I frequently use. Our upstairs neighbour continuously complains she can hear the darts hitting the board. The truth is that she can- if she's sitting in silence alone in her flat. otherwise not really.

In the name of keeping the peace I have reluctantly agreed to not throw after 10pm but she was straight on the blower at about 9 tonight as soon as I started. She is being very polite, as are we in return. I am guessing if the council were called they'd just basically laugh in her face. Are any of her complaints warranted and should I even be paying heed to them and accommodating her?

I can't see any reason why I should, aside from keeping the peace, but it's really pissing me off seen as the best time to throw for an hour or so is after the missus has gone to bed.

Anyone got any pearls of wisdom, or better still an ingenious way to stop noises travelling up an internal wall?

Could be she's in bed by nine and the noise is probably really annoying.

I say kill her.

Re: Problem with the neighbour- darts and excessive noise
I had this exact problem with my next door neighbour, despite the fact that we live in a period house and therefore have massive solid walls between us - his TV is absolutely blaring out most of the time so he must have very selective hearing.

The cunt started banging on my door on boxing day about about 10pm and he politely told him to fuck off.

It transpires that he's just a moany old cunt and I don't take any notice now.

After having a bit of a pop at him he seems to have stopped.

You could either:

Tell her to fuck off and stop being an embarrassing mess as there is nothing she can actually do about it.

Or

Fit the board to some sort of dampening like sponge/foam between it and the wall to reduce the noise, although how much that will actually do remains to be seen.

Have you only got one wall? If you have two, you could ask her to sit near another one.

Tell her to keep out of the black and in the red, Nothing in this game for two in a bed."

If she gets nasty: "You've got the time it takes for the board to revolve..."

I have really noisy neighbours. The din was driving me mad until I recently gave in and tried these orange foam rubber ear plugs I found in Sainsbury. Now I get a great night's sleep. They are amazing little things.

Only drawback is they bugger up my ears. Sometimes I get dizzy after I get in the morning and it can last a few hours.

Trying to cross a busy London High Road in morning rush hour traffic, tottering and slaloming like a pisshead, fighting swirling nausea, clutching a breakfast latte, with several buses thundering towards you, is not something I would recommend.

Ask her to invite the council around to take a reading.
Or bite her ears off

In the interest of keeping the peace, could you not move the dartboard to a wall that is not shared with her flat?

Is that a euphemism?

Sven - it's exactly like being drunk, without the euphoria and increased risk of kissing inappropriate men.
